Sunscreen, Suitcases & Summer Nail Sass: The Summer Nail Care Guide
July 25, 2025
Sun’s out, nails out—and if you’re flaunting your favorite Auntie Cookie’s press-ons this summer, you’ll want them shining brighter than your pool floatie 🍹. Whether you're melting in a heatwave, cannonballing into chlorine, or zipping off on vacation, here’s how to keep your nails sweet and secure through it all.
☀️ Surviving the Summer Heat
Heat and humidity can affect your nail adhesive, making it sweatier than you at a July cookout.
Tips to beat the heat:
Clean & dry base : Always start with squeaky clean, dry nails to help glue or adhesive tabs stay strong.
Avoid lotions before application : Oils can weaken the bond—save the slathering for after your nails are secure.
Carry a mini nail kit : Toss a file, buffer, and a couple spare nails into your bag—just in case.
🏖️ Poolside Protection
Pool parties are a blast, but chlorine is not your nails’ BFF. The water and chemicals can make press-ons lift prematurely if they’re not sealed properly.
Tips to stay splash-proof:
Seal the deal : Use a strong nail glue and press firmly for at least 30 seconds per nail.
Skip soaking : Too much water exposure (like long swims or hot tub lounging) can wear down your bond.
Post-pool TLC : Rinse nails and hands with fresh water and moisturize—cuticle oil adds bonus shine!
✈️ Travel-Ready Tips
Whether you’re heading to a beachy escape or a road trip rendezvous, travel can take a toll on your nails (and your patience 😅).
Tips to stay fly (literally):
Pack a backup set : Keep a fresh set in your travel kit in case one goes rogue.
Go short for safety : If you’ll be hauling luggage or hiking trails, opt for shorter nails that won’t snag.
Match your mani to your mood : Auntie Cookie’s vampire fangs for a twilight escape? Butterfly wings for a garden stroll? You do you, boo.
🍬 A Sweet Send-Off
Summer should be full of slushies, sunset selfies, and flirty fingertips. With a little extra love, your nails will stay dazzling through every sunny adventure. Shop fresh summer sets now and seal those cuticles with confidence 💅.
